Students and I discussed the correct answer to page 11 (homework).
Students then took a pretest for our next chapter on Google Classroom.
Students then read 2 pages, also on Google Classroom.
Some students began the water molecule model activity.
Test on Wednesday on page 2 - 11.

Aug 30 - all classes
We discussed the demonstrations from yesterday.
Students worked on page 10 and put it in their notebooks.
We then spent time organizing their email. Students were also show google keep as a way to write down homework.
Students have homework to finish page 11. We will have a test next Wednesday on notebook page 2 - 11.

Aug 29 - all classes
We went over the questions from the activity about solids.
Students then took a quiz over sections 3 and 4. The read about gases when they were finished.
We then discussed the molecular motion of gases using two demonstrations:
1) balloon and balance (teacher-led)
2) soap bubble (group in lab)
We finished by going over the goals and explaining what we saw about them:
Based on observations of demonstrations and their own experimentation, students will be able to describe gas as matter.
Students will also be able to describe, on the molecular level, the effect of heating and cooling on the motion of molecules of a gas.
Test will be next Wednesday.

Aug 27 - al classes
We discussed questions on the thermometer assignment. All parts of that assignment (reading, notes, and assessment) are due by 8pm on Tuesday.
Students then worked on questions regarding Activity Sheet on how molecules move in a solid. Students were given a link to animations and a handout with questions to answer.
Notebook page tomorrow.

Aug 23 - all classes
We discussed the water molecule worksheet.
Students then did the experiment about how the temperature of water effects the speed of the molecules.
For homework, students need to complete questions for notebook page 5.

Aug 22nd - all classes
Students completed the reflection statement on the movement of molecules.
We then discussed the correct answers to the review and brain work questions from yesterday.
Students then went to the lab and worked with moving water drops again.
We finished with a brief discussion of procedures during emergency situations.

Aug 20 - all classes
students got logged in to our google classroom account. There is a different code for each class, so you will have to see Mr. B for the code for your particular class.
Students then took a pre-test to show how much they know about our first topic.
We then discussed chemistry and matter. And...OUR KIDS CAN THINK!
We finished by moving to the lab to do some work with water.
Homework is to have a notebook and folder by Tuesday.
